In 1983, Main Street Baptist Church discussed the need for affordable senior housing in Lexington and agreed to sponsor Main Street Baptist Church Manor. The founding board members of the Manor worked in cooperation with Southeastern Management Center, the management agent, to find HUD funding and to build Main Street Baptist Church Manor located at 428 Darby Creek Road which opened in 1986.
